Firefox V43 Broke Title Bar Transparency For Mac

Running Firefox 4 in full screen is not an option, since the menu bar is also hidden then. As for the addon Hide Caption Titlebar Plus, this doesn't work on the Mac the way I want. I don't care if the title bar is removed or hidden, I just want to get rid of it. While new updates are critical for security and very good in fixing bugs and improving functions, I usually avoid updating Thunderbird/Firefox to the latest versions mainly because of extensions incompatibilities (I use tons of extensions) but also because of (what I consider) silly design changes It is more and more obvious that while Thunderbird and Firefox are awesome programs, lately Mozilla is starting to implement design “features” which, while appealing and useful for a new/novice user, are a hassle for old power users. Manually toggling those two states locally, the difference between the two states is too drastic. With this patch, I consider the issues 1, 4 and 9 fixed. #2 looks better now, but the »about:customizing« string still shows up briefly in the beginning of the animation. I've narrowed it down to the linear-gradient being applied to the main-window. If I make that a solid colour, the jank appears to go away. Local CART testing suggests that the resulting patch doesn't add any overhead to our CART results for entering, but.might. add a tiny bit of time to our exit animation. I'll push to try just to see.

Even if it does, we might want to eat that cost for the visual smoothness it gives us.
